I think the thing that makes The Play so amazing is the fact that Elway had that long drive that supposedly won them the game and got them a bowl bid and then *bam*, Stanford was staying home for the holidays.
I was amused by Elway being selected so high in ESPN's "50 Greatest College Players of All Time" listing. The most important record of his in college? 1-3 vs. Cal.
