I've noticed this a lot in the blogosphere - someone famous in the political arena dies, and you'll read a post that begins along the lines of, "Death is always a sad occasion, and my heartfelt thoughts go out to the family of ________. Having said that, I firmly believe that _________ was one of the greatest threats to American democracy in the last half-century..."
You know, if you're really secretly happy that the person in question is dead, then don't give me that line about being sad for the family. Because it really doesn't ring true.
